How do I install Silverlight on my Windows PC?

Silverlight is the browser plug-in that allows you to watch TV shows and movies on your computer. Choose your preferred browser from the list below, and follow the steps to install Silverlight on your Windows computer.

Internet Explorer

  1. Select a TV show or movie to watch.

  2. Select Install Now.

  3. Select Save File.

    • If you have trouble locating the file, check for Silverlight.exe in the Downloads folder by pressing Ctrl + J on your keyboard.

  4. Select Run when prompted by the File Download – Security Warning window.

  5. Select Run when prompted by the Internet Explorer – Security Warning window.

  6. Select Install Now.

  7. Select Close.

  8. Close and reopen your browser.

  9. Try Netflix again.

Firefox

  1. Select a TV show or movie to watch.

  2. Select Install Now.

  3. Select Save File.

  4. Double-click or double-tap Silverlight.exe from the Firefox Downloads window.

    • If you have trouble locating the file, check for Silverlight.exe in the Downloads folder by pressing Ctrl + J on your keyboard.

    • Select OK if prompted by the Open Executable File? window.

    • Select Run if prompted by the Open File – Security Warning window.

  5. Select Install Now.

  6. Select Close.

  7. Close and reopen your browser.

  8. Try Netflix again.

Chrome

  1. Select a TV show or movie to watch.

  2. Select Install Now.

  3. Select Silverlight.exe from the Chrome Downloads bar at the bottom of the browser.

    • If you have trouble locating the file, check for Silverlight.exe in the Downloads folder by pressing Ctrl + J on your keyboard.

  4. Select Run if prompted by the Open File – Security Warning window.

  5. Select Install Now.

  6. Select Close.

  7. Close and reopen your browser.

  8. Try Netflix again.
