If you see a message on your Android phone or tablet that says
Failed to play subtitle track. Please try again.
It typically indicates that your Netflix app is out of date. Follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue.
Open the Play Store app.
In the Search bar, search for "Netflix."
From the search results, tap the Netflix app.
If you see only Uninstall or Open, the Netflix app is already up to date.
If the Netflix app doesn't show in the search results, follow the steps in Can't find the Netflix app in app stores.
If you don't have the Play Store app, visit Google's support site for help.
Open the Play Store app and search for Netflix.
From the Netflix app store page, select Uninstall.
To confirm, select OK.
Once uninstallation is complete, select Install.
Once installation is complete, select Open.
Try Netflix again.
