How do I change my Netflix plan if I am being billed through iTunes?

If you want to change your Netflix plan and are currently billed through iTunes, access your iTunes account via Netflix or directly through iTunes and follow the steps below. Upgrading your plan will take effect immediately; you will be charged the full amount for the new plan at the time of upgrade and your billing date will be changed. You will also immediately receive a prorated refund for the unused portion of your previous plan. If you upgrade your plan during your free trial, this will cause the free trial to end prematurely. Downgrading a plan will take effect on the next billing date.

Note:
Customers whose membership began before 5/10/2014 are not able to change their plans through iTunes. If you would like to change your plan, you must first cancel your account through iTunes. Once your billing date has passed and your account has closed, you can visit Netflix.com/YourAccountPayment to select a new payment method and change your plan. You will no longer be billed through iTunes if you change your plan.

Change your plan via Netflix on a computer

  1. From your Account page, click the iTunes link under Membership & Billing.

  2. You will either be redirected to a page to download iTunes, or iTunes will open.

  3. Once you have downloaded or opened iTunes, there may be a prompt asking you to Sign In.

  4. After signing in, you will be redirected to the Subscriptions page.

  5. To the right of the Netflix subscription, select Edit.

  6. Select the plan you would like to change to.

  7. A dialog box will open asking you to confirm your selection. Select Confirm.

    • You may also be asked to sign in to iTunes.

  8. Your account will display your new plan.

Change your plan via iTunes on a computer

  1. Download or open iTunes.

  2. If you are not already signed in, you will need to sign in with your Apple ID.

    • To sign in, select Account from the menu bar at the top of your screen or at the top of the iTunes window, then Sign In. You'll be asked to enter your Apple ID and password.

  3. Select Account from the menu bar at the top of your screen or at the top of the iTunes window, then View My Account. You may be asked to sign in.

  4. On the Account Information screen, scroll to the Settings section.

  5. To the right of subscriptions, select Manage.

  6. To the right of the Netflix subscription, select Edit.

    • If you don't see a Netflix subscription and are still being charged, make sure that you're signed in with the correct Apple ID. If so, you might have subscribed directly through Netflix and not through iTunes. In this case, please use this article to change your subscription.

  7. Select the plan you would like to change to.

  8. A dialog box will open asking you to confirm your selection. Select Confirm.

    • You may also be asked to sign in to iTunes again.

  9. Your account will display your new plan.

Change your plan via iTunes on a iPad, iPod, or iPhone

  1. On the home screen, tap Settings.

  2. Tap your name.

  3. Tap iTunes & App Store.

  4. Tap your Apple ID, then tap View Apple ID. You might need to sign in or use Touch ID.

  5. Tap Subscriptions.

  6. Under Subscriptions, select Netflix.

    • If you don't see a Netflix subscription and are still being charged, make sure that you're signed in with the correct Apple ID. If so, you might have subscribed directly through Netflix and not through iTunes. In this case, please use this article to change your subscription.

  7. Select the plan you would like to change to.

  8. A dialog box will open asking you to confirm your selection. Select Confirm.

  9. Your account will display your new plan.

Change your plan on an Apple TV 4 or Apple TV 4K

  1. From the Apple TV home screen, select Settings.

  2. Select Accounts.

  3. Under Subscriptions, select Manage Subscriptions. You may need to sign in with your Apple ID.

  4. Once signed in, select Netflix.

  5. After selecting Netflix, you will be directed to the Edit Subscription page. Under Renewal Options, select the plan you would like to change to.

  6. A dialog box will open asking you to confirm your selection. Select Confirm.

  7. Your account will display your new plan.

You can only edit subscriptions for tvOS apps that are installed on your Apple TV.
