How do I update my iTunes billing information?

You will need to use iTunes to update your iTunes billing information. Follow the steps below to update your information through your Apple mobile device or computer.

Update through your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

If you are using iOS 10.3 or later:

  1. Tap Settings.

  2. Tap your name.

  3. Tap Payment & Shipping. You may need to enter your Apple ID password.

  4. Select your current payment method.

  5. Enter your new billing information.

  6. Tap Save.

If you are using iOS 10.2 or earlier:

  1. Tap Settings.

  2. Tap iTunes & App Store.

  3. Tap your Apple ID.

  4. Tap View Apple ID. You may need to sign in.

  5. Tap Payment Information.

  6. Enter your new billing information.

  7. Tap Done.

After you change your payment information, the iTunes Store will place a temporary authorization hold on your credit card to verify your updated account information. If you have any issues updating your payment method, visit Apple’s support site for further assistance.

Update through your computer

  1. Download or open iTunes.

  2. If you're not signed in, you will need to sign in with your Apple ID.

    • To sign in, select Account from the menu bar at the top of your screen or at the top of the iTunes window, then Sign In. You'll be asked to enter your Apple ID and password.

  3. Select Account from the menu bar at the top of your screen or at the top of the iTunes window, then View My Account. You may be asked to sign in.

  4. Select Edit to the right of Payment Type on the Account Information page. You can see which payment methods the iTunes Store accepts in the Payment Type section. If you're using Family Sharing, only the family organizer can update the payment information.

  5. Enter your new billing information.

  6. Select Done.
