How to unlock Mexico and the regions of Tall Trees and the Great Plains.

• Mexico

  • In Red Dead Redemption, the San Luis River separates the United States from Mexico. To access Mexico, you must complete the mission “We Shall Be Together in Paradise” with Irish. After completing this mission, you can travel freely between the U.S. and Mexico.

• Tall Trees and the Great Plains

  • Tall Trees and the Great Plains become accessible after progressing about two-thirds through the main story. They're in the northeast section of the map, separated by the Aurora Basin. Once you complete the mission “An Appointed Time” for Abraham Reyes, you’ll be able to travel freely to this area.
