Netflix Games Community Guidelines
At Netflix, the safety and well-being of our members is our priority.
To help ensure members feel safe and welcome when playing or interacting with our games, these Guidelines outline the core values we expect each member to uphold when interacting with one another. We provide some examples of prohibited behavior, but even if not explicitly mentioned here, other disruptive or harmful acts may still be considered as inappropriate or unacceptable behavior. Furthermore, not being aware of these Guidelines will not be a valid excuse for violating them. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to take a number of enforcement and disciplinary steps against any member who violates the letter or the spirit of these Guidelines.
As our community evolves, these Guidelines may change too and we reserve the right to update these terms at any time. These Guidelines supplement the Netflix Terms of Use, which govern your use of our service, including playing games on Netflix. Keep in mind that individual games may have additional guidelines for their communities that may also apply to you. If you see or experience any behavioral misconduct that violates the Netflix Terms of Use or these Guidelines, please report it immediately via the applicable game’s in-game reporting system, if available, or by contacting Netflix Games Support. Our community guidelines and the guidelines of specific studios are not mutually exclusive.
Our values
We want Netflix to be a safe, fun, and fair playing environment for everyone. Help us maintain a great gaming environment by following the principles below and encouraging others to do the same.
I. Encourage positive behavior and good sportsmanship
We believe that a positive gaming environment is built on cooperation, respect, and good sportsmanship. Encouraging these behaviors helps create a more enjoyable experience for everyone, especially new or less skilled members.
We also encourage showing empathy and support to members who may be struggling with emotional or mental health issues. If you or someone you know is struggling, information and resources are available at www.wannatalkaboutit.com.
Our expectations
I. Be respectful and inclusive
To keep Netflix welcoming and inclusive for everyone, hateful conduct is strictly prohibited. Our games should be a safe, respectful, and fun environment for all members, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, color, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, gaming skills, or other identities. We do not tolerate spreading, promoting, amplifying, or encouraging violence, hate, bigotry, or extremism in our games.
II. Play fairly and honestly
Maintaining a level playing field is integral to fair gaming. Cheating, hacking, exploiting glitches or bugs, or using third-party software or manipulating your connection to our servers to gain unfair advantages is prohibited.
III. Use our services appropriately
At Netflix, we aspire to entertain the world - and our games offerings are no different, so please use and enjoy our games services in the manner they are meant to be played and experienced. Manipulation, exploitation, abuse, or other fraudulent use of our services will not be tolerated.
IV. Respect the rights and privacy of others
Protecting your own privacy and respecting the privacy of other members is important. Do not share your own personal information with other members, including your account credentials, like your email and password, or personal details, such as precise real-world location, real full name, or phone number.
V. Keep it legal
Netflix is available in countries all over the world and we require users to respect all applicable laws while using our services. Engaging in, featuring, encouraging, offering, or soliciting illegal activity is prohibited.
Consequences of misconduct
When we take enforcement or disciplinary action in response to Guideline violations, our primary objective is not to punish, but rather, to protect everyone's experience and safety. While our top priority is to remove and address the disruption or harm caused by the prohibited behavior, our corrective action also aims to encourage that member to reform their behavior.
Being part of the Netflix community carries with it the responsibility and commitment to adhere to these Guidelines. Therefore, if your conduct violates these Guidelines, we may take a number of enforcement or disciplinary steps, including issuing warnings, removing inappropriate content, temporarily or permanently suspending your access to a game or game feature, and potentially permanently banning your Netflix account or reporting the violation to law enforcement.
Repeat or severe offenses
For the majority of cases, when suspensions or other corrective action end, we welcome members back so they can participate in Netflix games in positive ways. We know people make mistakes, and we believe lapses in judgment can be opportunities for growth. However, critical offenses including but not limited to illegal activity or threats of physical harm may result in an immediate, permanent ban. Similarly, we may also permanently suspend an account’s access to games in cases where members using the account consistently fail to uphold these Guidelines and our attempts to correct repeated negative behaviors are unsuccessful.
Tell us when something isn't right
Members can help ensure our community stays safe and inclusive by reporting misconduct through the applicable game’s in-game reporting system, if available, or by contacting Netflix Games Support. If you witness any illegal activity, behavior that violates these Guidelines, or behavior that threatens the safety of our members, please report it immediately through these channels. All reports are reviewed and evaluated for appropriate action by our trained teams.
If you believe a report against you has been made in error and you would like to dispute or appeal such report, please notify us via the applicable game’s in-game reporting system, if available, or by contacting Netflix Games Support.
