Learn about Netflix features on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, including how to set up and sign out of your account.
The Netflix app is available on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models running iOS 16 or later, and is compatible with devices running iOS 5 or later that have already downloaded the Netflix app. Instructions for determining which iOS version you have can be found on the Apple support site.
To connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Netflix account, make sure you are on the Home screen and follow the steps below.
Open the App Store.
Select Search.
Type Netflix in the Search bar and tap the Search button.
Select the Netflix search result.
Select Get or tap the Cloud icon.
If you are missing the option to install the Netflix app, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Tap the Netflix icon on the Home screen.
Enter your Netflix email address and password.
Select Sign In.
Your device is now connected to your Netflix account.

Search
Find TV shows and movies by searching directly on the Netflix app when using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Subtitles & alternate audio
While a TV show or movie is playing, tap the screen to bring up your play options. On the right, you'll find an option to enable subtitles, if available.
Downloads
Download TV shows and movies to watch offline on iOS 9 or later.
Video out

Picture in Picture (requires iOS 14)

There are 2 ways to sign out of Netflix on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
In the lower right, tap My Netflix.
In the upper right, tap More .
Tap Sign Out , then tap Sign Out to confirm.
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause to show currently open apps.
For devices with a Home button, press twice quickly.
Swipe left or right until you see the Netflix app.
Swipe up on the Netflix app preview to close it.
In iOS 6, tap and hold on the app until a red badge with a line through it appears, then tap the badge to close the app.
Press the Home button to return to the Home screen.
Select Settings.
Swipe down until you locate the Netflix app.
Select Netflix.
Slide the Reset toggle to the On position.
Press the Home button to return to the Home screen.
Select Netflix.
Enter your Netflix email address and password.
