How to use Netflix on your Amazon Fire tablet

Learn how to set up and sign out of your Netflix account on your Amazon Fire HD tablet.

You can get the Netflix app from the Amazon Appstore on tablets with Fire OS version 5 or later.

To connect your Amazon Fire tablet to your Netflix account:

  1. From the home screen, tap the Appstore.

  2. In the upper right, tap the Search search button button and enter "Netflix".

  3. In the list, tap Netflix then tap Download.

  4. Once the app is installed, tap Open.

  5. Tap Sign In and enter your Netflix email address or phone and password to sign in.

Netflix streaming features on supported devices include:

Search for titles by tapping the Search search button button in the upper right corner of the app. You can also scroll through rows of recommended genres on the home screen, or browse all genres using the menus near the top. To fast forward or rewind, tap anywhere on the screen, then slide your finger either forward or backward along the progress bar. Press the back back button button to stop watching.

Subtitles & alternate audio
During playback, tap the Audio & Subtitles audio & subtitles button button icon at the top of the screen to configure subtitles and alternate language audio.

Some Fire tablets allow you to watch Netflix while using other apps. Not all Fire tablets support this feature. For help with Picture-in-Picture, contact Amazon or go to their support site.

Downloading is supported on tablets with Fire OS version 5 or later.

To sign out of the Netflix account on your device, follow these steps.

  1. In the upper right corner, tap your Profile icon profile button.

  2. Tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out again to confirm.

Netflix is available in Full HD (up to 1080p) on these Fire tablet models:

  • Fire Max 11

  • Fire HD 10

  • Fire HD 8
