How to use Netflix on your Amazon Fire tablet

Learn how to set up and sign out of your Netflix account on your Amazon Fire HD tablet.

You can get the Netflix app from the Amazon Appstore on tablets with Fire OS version 5 or later.

To connect your Amazon Fire tablet to your Netflix account:

  1. From the home screen, tap the Appstore.

  2. In the upper right, tap the Search button and enter "Netflix".

  3. In the list, tap Netflix then tap Download.

  4. Once the app is installed, tap Open.

  5. Tap Sign In and enter your Netflix email address or phone and password to sign in.


Netflix streaming features on supported devices include:

Navigation
Search for titles by tapping the Search button in the upper right corner of the app. You can also scroll through rows of recommended genres on the home screen, or browse all genres using the menus near the top. To fast forward or rewind, tap anywhere on the screen, then slide your finger either forward or backward along the progress bar. Press the back button to stop watching.

Subtitles & alternate audio
During playback, tap the Audio & Subtitles button icon at the top of the screen to configure subtitles and alternate language audio.

Picture-in-Picture
Some Fire tablets allow you to watch Netflix while using other apps. Not all Fire tablets support this feature. For help with Picture-in-Picture, contact Amazon or go to their support site.

Downloads
You can download TV shows and movies to watch when you aren't online. Go to our article to learn more about downloads.

Note:Downloading is supported on tablets with Fire OS version 5 or later.

To sign out of the Netflix account on your device, follow these steps.

  1. In the upper right corner, tap your Profile icon .

  2. Tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out again to confirm.

  • Fire Max 11

  • Fire HD 10

  • Fire HD 8
