Using Netflix with Google Home and Google Assistant

The Google Home device allows for Google Assistant voice control of connected Chromecast devices and select TVs with Chromecast built-in.

Note:
TVs with Chromecast built-in require Cast version 1.21 or higher. Not all TVs with Chromecast built-in are currently compatible with Google Home voice control. See Google's list of voice-supported Cast devices to learn more.

To set up your devices, you'll need to take the following steps.

  1. Link devices using the Google Home app.

    Note:
    Please refer to the Google support site for help setting up your Google Home.
  2. Link Netflix to your Google account.

    • For voice controls to work with Netflix, you will need to link your account.

      1. Launch the Google Home app.

      2. Select the Menu icon Menu Icon.

      3. Under Google Assistant, select More settings.

      4. Select the Services tab.

      5. Select Videos and Photos.

      6. Locate Netflix and tap the Link icon to link your Google account to your Netflix app.

      7. You can now control Netflix on your Google Home-connected devices using Google Assistant voice controls.
