Taxes on your Netflix membership

You can see your billing history and the price and applicable taxes you will be charged in the Billing details section of your Account page.

Below you can find answers to commonly asked questions about taxes on your Netflix membership.

How tax rates are determined

Tax rates can vary by country, state, territory and city, and are based on the applicable rate at the time of your Netflix charge. These amounts can change over time with local tax requirements.

Does the Netflix price include sales tax?

The Netflix advertised price does not include sales tax.

If sales tax applies, it is listed separately on your monthly invoice. Your Netflix membership may be subject to sales tax in some states (governed by your state’s sales tax laws) because your membership includes streaming and games.

You can sign in to your Account and follow these steps to view and print an invoice.

How to get an invoice for Netflix charges

Your Netflix invoice lists your Netflix charges and applicable taxes. You can sign in to your Account and follow these steps to view and print an invoice.

Personal tax ID is not on your Netflix invoice

For privacy reasons, we don't collect personal tax ID information during sign-up, so it is not listed on your Netflix invoice.

Netflix is for personal use and cannot be claimed as a personal or business expense, which is stated in our Terms of Use.
