Netflix Error 5.8

You might get error 5.8 on your Android phone or tablet with this message:

There is a problem playing the video. Please try again. (5.8)

This error happens when an issue with data stored on your device stops Netflix from playing.

To fix the problem:

  1. Turn off your phone or tablet. Make sure it's turned off, not just locked.

  2. Turn it back on.

  3. Try Netflix again.

If you're using live or animated wallpaper, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Display.

  2. Tap Wallpaper.

  3. Choose any still or non-animated image, then tap Set Wallpaper.

  4. Tap Home screen and lock screen.

  5. Try Netflix again.

Note:If your device has different options than these steps, check your device's user manual or ask the device manufacturer for help.

You can update your Android device's OS (operating system) from the Settings app. Visit Google's support site to get the exact steps or to troubleshoot an issue.
