Netflix Error 5.8

If you get the error code 5.8 on your Android phone or tablet with this message:

There is a problem playing the video. Please try again. (5.8)

It usually means that your device needs to be refreshed. Follow these steps to fix the problem.

Turn your device off, then back on

  1. Turn off your phone or tablet. Make sure it's turned off, not just locked.

  2. Turn it back on.

  3. Try Netflix again.

Turn off live or animated wallpaper

If you're using live or animated wallpaper, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Display.

  2. Tap Wallpaper.

  3. Choose any still or non-animated image, then tap Set Wallpaper.

  4. Tap Home screen and lock screen.

  5. Try Netflix again.
