Netflix says 'Unable to Purchase.'
If you get an error on your iPhone or iPad with the message:
Unable to Purchase
"Netflix" is not compatible with this device
It typically indicates that your device isn't compatible with the most recent version of the Netflix app. Follow the steps below to check your iOS version to see if you can download Netflix on this device.
Check your iOS version
To get the latest version of the Netflix app, your iPhone or iPad must have iOS/iPadOS 17 or later installed.
To check the version:
Go to Settings.
Scroll down and select General.
Select About.
Your version number will be listed next to Version.
If your iOS version is between iOS 5 and iOS 16, you may be able to get the Netflix app if it was downloaded in the past. Learn how to redownload apps from the App Store.
If your iOS version is iOS 16 or earlier and you haven't downloaded the Netflix app in the past, you'll need to use another device to watch Netflix.
