Netflix says 'Device failure occurred. (500.-117)'

If you see an error on your Android phone or tablet that says

Device failure occurred. Please try again (500.-117)

It often means there's data on the device that needs to be refreshed. Follow the steps below to fix the problem.

Quit and reopen the app

1. Go to your device's home screen or apps list.

2. Tap and hold the app, then tap App info.

3. Tap Force stop > OK.

4. Reopen the app, then try again.

What to do next

If you're still getting an error after doing the steps above, check the error code displayed on your Android phone or tablet:

• If the error code has changed to (501.-117), visit Netflix says 'Device failure occurred. (501.-117)' to fix the issue.
