Into the Dead 2: Unleashed - Gameplay Questions

Stuck in the game somewhere? Wondering how something works? Have questions about in-game settings? Here are answers to common gameplay questions.

Into the Dead 2: Unleashed is available to Netflix members to download through their mobile app on Android phones and tablets or iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Please be aware that there are two similar versions within the app store. The Netflix version has the Netflix 'N' logo on the icon for the game.

This game shares the same storyline and lore as the original, Into the Dead 2, with some differences to game mechanics, such as the removal of in-app purchases. The game are completely separate. You can have both versions on a device at the same time, but progress is not shared between them.

Customizing Controls
From the main menu, in the lower left corner tap the wrench > Controls and choose a control layout. While playing you can also do this by hitting pause.

Adjusting Graphics
You can customize the graphics of the game, which can help the game run smoother on your device. From the main menu, in the lower left corner tap wrench > Graphics and select Max, High, Medium, or Low, and then tap Apply.

Changing Language
The game language will match your Netflix profile language automatically. You can also choose the language inside the game. From the main menu, in the lower left corner tap the wrench > Language and choose a language.

Story mode
This mode includes 7 chapters (60 stages total). Complete each stage of the story to earn Stars (5 maximum per stage) and Gold. You can replay a story level as many times as you’d like. Earn more Stars from the Story Challenges to unlock rewards and access additional stages.

Daily mode
This mode unlocks at stage 8. The objective is to use the assigned Weapon and Companion and take down as many zombies as possible. Get the required number of kills to unlock rewards. Dailies are refreshed every day.

Side Stories
You can play through 8 original stories that unlock once you pass specific stages in Story mode. Each side story grants different rewards.

Event
This game mode unlocks at stage 32. Each event will have a set number of stages with objectives that earn you points that unlock rewards and rank you against other players on the leaderboard. If you fail a stage you can either revive or end the journey. If you end the journey or if the event timer expires, the event mode will reset.

Events have 3 tiers of difficulty: Regular, Pro, and Elite. Elite mode unlocks after the main campaign is finished.


Stars
Completing goals within stages awards players with Stars. Challenge stars are needed to unlock levels. The more Stars players gather the more Weapons, Companions, and Boosts are unlocked.

Gold
Earn Gold by playing the Story, Event or Daily modes. Gold is used to upgrade Weapons and Companions.

Crowns
Crowns are earned through playing Daily missions. They can be used to unlock new weapons in the prize ladder which can be used across the game.

  • How to unlock weapons
    Weapons are unlocked with Stars and each stage awards Stars for challenges completed.

  • How to upgrade weapons
    Every Weapon can be upgraded by killing zombies. Each kill awards XP for that specific item. Once the XP of an item is ready to upgrade, tap on the Weapons tab in the main menu and spend Gold to upgrade. Weapon Skins unlock with wins.

Available Weapons:

Defender D9 - An old but dependable sidearm. This design has stood the test of time.

G911 Enforcer - Lightweight and high capacity, police forces swear by this side-arm.

R77 Rapid - Rapid firepower in a concealable package, with both single shot and burst fire modes. This machine pistol has defended many world leaders.

Hammerhead 357 - Heavy, slow, immense stopping power. This revolver is not messing around.

G911 Black Veil - Built for serious wetwork by an operative codenamed “Black Veil,” this customized G911 features a suppressor, laser sight, and extended magazine.

Cartel Twins - Custom 9mm pistols commissioned by a legendary crime boss. Twice the fun.

Dragoon IX - A rare vintage cavalry revolver with a separate barrel for firing a shotgun shell. Famously used in a civil war.

Alpha & Omega - The beginning and the end. Any fight they start, they finish.

Brute Double - An old farm shotgun that has lost weight and gained attitude. Best results at close range.

Justice M32 - Bring the law with you wherever you go. Slow, but hits hard over a wide area.

ASH-20 Breacher - Milgram developed this fully-automatic combat shotgun for raiding structures in warzones. Corporal Garcia found another use for it.

S-12 Riot - The pinnacle of crowd control, this tactical shotgun is a peerless survival companion.

Brute Inferno - This collector's item, once owned by an oil baron, fires incendiary shells from both barrels at once in a devastating blast.

The Surgeon - Officially branded the Surge Compact, The Surgeon earned its nickname performing messy amputations in the backstreets. Its rapid-fire rate and widespread are a lifesaver, but its patients seldom survive.

X-12 Tyrant - This shotgun was designed as the ultimate deterrent but was deemed too powerful to enter mass production.

Colossus - The Colossus makes up for its short range with devastating firepower. Just don’t get caught while reloading.

Bandit T9 - An infamous weapon that once dominated the streets. Ammo hungry.

MT-56A Tactical - Designed for bodyguards and strike teams. The apocalypse is just another mission.

PP20 Dolbenkov - Paired with a set of high-tech night-vision goggles, the silenced PP20 Dolbenkov enables a stealth approach and silent execution.

Ezek - The Ezek’s compact design revolutionized SMGs, giving you formidable firepower in the palm of your hand.

T19 Rattlesnake - Quick. Reliable. Deadly. There's nothing quite like the Rattlesnake.

Redacted - This suppressed prototype was created for silent CQB ops -- the kind that aren't supposed to exist.

Fate & Fortune - This pair of SMGs was once gifted to a powerful CEO who believed in making his own luck.

A45 Apex - This compact SMG is favored by SWAT teams as it lets them change tactics as rapidly as switching fire modes.

Militia HK-5A - One of the most widely used assault weapons. Bring the fight to them.

ARC-4 Guerrilla - Forged in the jungle, this classic ARC shot to fame after appearing in many popular films and television shows.

ARC-7 Legion - Built for war. You're out of your depth, but this rifle has never been more at home.

ARC-9 Battalion - Restricted, military-grade hardware featuring a twin magazine and underbarrel grenade launcher.

K1 Stryker - The Stryker lives up to its name by delivering precision piercing shots in semi-auto but can also fire standard rounds in full-auto mode.

ARC-11 Shadow - Developed for covert ops, this spin on the classic ARC formula features a second fire mode that fires a burst of piercing bullets.

Escorpión III - A cartel boss famously disciplined disloyal sicarios using two scorpions. This weapon was mounted in his office as a final warning.

Predator 308 - A powerful, long-range, highly accurate hunter's weapon.

F300 Carbine - This quick and accurate rifle includes a bayonet, giving the wielder one chance to fend off a close-quarters attack.

COBALT Mk. IV - This top-secret anti-materiel rifle utilizes electromagnetic fields to fire armor-piercing slugs at hypersonic speeds.

Spectral II - This modern, lightweight compound bow is quick to draw but can propel arrows with immense force. Most arrows can be recovered from bodies and reused.

Spirit DDX - Silent, deadly, and the bolts can be reused. Requires skill.

Absolution - This mysterious weapon can rapidly fire bolts at incredible speed or ratchet back a single bolt for incredible power.

V.L.A.D. - The Very Large Arrow Dispenser was one talented engineer's answer to the apocalypse. Multiple targets can be taken down with each reusable harpoon.

Throwing Daggers - Small. Sharp. Silent. These Throwing Daggers are truly deadly... just don't miss.

Aftershock - Custom-made for surviving the apocalypse, this electrifying weapon can kill its target and stun the surrounding enemies.

Nailbiter - Perfect for construction and destruction alike, this modified nailgun is ready for the end of the world.

GL-03 Krampus - A vintage military grenade launcher with an innovative harmonica magazine. Will you be naughty or nice?

Bainbridge M14 - The brainchild of vain inventor S.G. Bainbridge, this machine gun unleashes a barrage of immense reckoning, with a mere tap of the trigger.

Hellfire - Custom built to melt dead faces, this flamethrower can spray hot death on a single target or unleash a fiery blast that incinerates anything nearby.

Sawtooth - This saw blade launcher was custom-made to take on the apocalypse. She made it further than most.

MGN-6 Juggernaut - A hurricane of lead, the firepower of an attack helicopter, held in your hand. Just be mindful of the wind-up time and lengthy reload.

XM-4 Titan - A cutting-edge rocket launcher capable of raining down destruction on vehicles, gun nests, and anything else stupid enough to mess with you.

M2020 Harbinger - The belt of this machine gun is peppered with lucky rounds that are guaranteed to obliterate your enemies.

G-8 Marauder - The notorious Marauder has made many explosive entrances in its time. Unleash all six shells of violent fury and get where you need to go.

These weapons aren't available on the Weapon select screen, and are only available while playing.

Knives - Players are given one knife at the start of every Run. Knives can save you when you get caught by a zombie.

Grenades - Can be thrown at zombies using the grenade button on the screen. Players are given one Grenade at the start of every Run and can find additional ones in ammo crates.

Chainsaw - A gas-operated pruning tool. Useful for trimming trees, cutting firewood, and putting down the dead.

Scrub Cutter - Keeps the front yard tidy and the undead messy. Carries more fuel than the Chainsaw and has a greater range.

Companions are unlocked through playing the game, and can help you take down zombies.

Crossbreed - A loyal companion to keep you company. He's ready to take down zombies.
Special abilities: None

Bull Mastiff - The absolute aggressor. She’s the ultimate zombie attack dog.
Special abilities: None

Golden Retriever - Take him with you in story mode to dig up bonus gold.
Special abilities: Finds extra Gold in Story mode

German Shepherd - A steadfast friend that has your back. Has a chance of saving you during a run.
Special abilities: Chance to save

Border Collie - This girl has a good eye for finding ammo. If you’re finding yourself low on ammo, she’s here to help.
Special abilities: Spawns extra ammo crates

Malayan Tiger - A lethal killer. Has a chance of saving you during a run.
Special abilities: Chance to save

Bengal Tiger - The ultimate killing machine. Has a chance of saving you during a run.
Special abilities: Chance to save

Alpha Wolf - Don't mistake this fierce predator for a lone wolf - you can call for its pack when in dire need.
Special abilities: Calls wolf pack to kill zombies

Bear - A powerful ally with a roar that distracts enemies.
Special abilities: Roars to distract enemies, freezing them in place.

Puma - A cunning hunter whose roar attracts nearby enemies.
Special abilities: Calls in more zombies.

Dobermann & Pup - This fearless mother is trained in search and rescue. She can either stay close and have a chance to save you, or search for ammo, grenades, and knives.
Special abilities: Finds Ammo, Knives, or Grenades. Chance to save.
