White screen with small window on computer

If you get a white screen and a small viewing window while trying to watch in your web browser (see example below), it typically points to an extension not allowing Netflix to work properly. Follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue.

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome if it's not yet open.

  2. In the URL bar, type chrome://extensions/ and press the Return or Enter key on your keyboard.

  3. Uncheck the shop@home extension.

  4. Try Netflix again.


  1. Open Firefox if it's not yet open.

  2. Select the Firefox menu icon menu icon (which can vary depending on the version of Firefox you're using).

  3. Select Add-ons.

  4. Select Extensions.

  5. Select Disable on the shop@home add-on.

  6. Try Netflix again.

Internet Explorer

  1. Select the Start button in the lower left corner of your screen.

  2. Select Control Panel.

  3. From the View by drop-down menu in the upper right corner, select Category.

  4. Under Programs, select Uninstall a program.

  5. Locate and select the shop@home.com toolbar and select Uninstall.

  6. Once uninstalled, restart your computer.

  7. Once your computer is back on, try Netflix again.

  2. Select the Safari drop-down from the top menu bar.

  3. Select Preferences.

  4. Select the Extensions tab.

  5. Select shop@home.com.

  6. Select Uninstall.

  7. Try Netflix again.
