Using Netflix on your KPN, Telfort, or XS4ALL set-top box

Welcome to Netflix on your KPN, Telfort, and XS4ALL set-top box! Use this article to learn about Netflix features and how to set up and sign out of your account. If you’re unsure if your device supports Netflix, follow the steps on the “Set up Netflix” tab to attempt to locate the Netflix app.

Netflix Features

Netflix is available on select KPN, Telfort and XS4ALL set-top boxes. Netflix streaming features on supported devices include:

Navigation
On most devices, Netflix lets you browse through rows of TV shows and movies, including a row dedicated to your My List selections. Each row represents a category (Comedies, Dramas, TV shows, etc) that we present to you based on what you’ve watched.

Older devices may not have rows of movie categories, but do allow you to scroll through My List, which you can create using the Netflix website.

Resolution
Most devices are capable of streaming Netflix in high definition on fast internet connections and will play Netflix in their maximum supported resolution (see our Internet Connection Speed recommendations for more information).

Subtitles & Alternate Audio
Learn how to enable subtitles, closed captions, and alternate audio (including 5.1 surround sound), which are available on many movies and TV shows. To check if your device supports 5.1 audio, go to any Netflix Original to see if there is a 5.1 audio option. If not, your device does not support this feature. Many devices will let you customize the appearance of subtitles and captions. Some devices will display subtitles and captions in their default appearance or are not configured to display subtitles.

Parental Controls
Netflix allows you to set parental controls on individual profiles.

Silent Sign-In (SSI):
Some KPN set-top boxes support Silent Sign-In, a technology that enables automatic sign in. Netflix customers who are billed through KPN will automatically be signed in to their Netflix account on their new, additional, or replacement KPN set-top box if that box is SSI-enabled.

Set up Netflix

To connect your KPN, Telfort, or XS4ALL set-top box to your Netflix account, start from the Home screen and choose from the options below.

Connect from the Menu

  1. Press the Menu button on your remote.
  2. Locate the On Demand category on the left side of the screen and press OK.
  3. Locate the Netflix app and press OK.
  4. If this is your first time accessing Netflix on this box, you will need to accept the terms noted in the pop-up.
  5. Once in the Netflix app, select Sign In.

Connect from Channel 200

  1. Use your remote to navigate to Channel 200.
  2. Press the red button on your remote to launch the Netflix app.
  3. If this is your first time accessing Netflix on this box, you will need to accept the terms noted in the pop-up.
  4. Once in the Netflix app, select Sign In.

Your device is now connected to your Netflix account. Enjoy!

Sign out of Netflix

To sign out of the Netflix account on your device, follow the steps below.

Exit and sign out of Netflix

  1. Begin from the Netflix home screen.
  2. Press the Back button on your remote.
  3. Select the Gear icon on the right.
  4. Select Sign out.
  5. Select Yes to confirm.
  6. You will now be given the option to sign in as a different Netflix member.

Exit Netflix without signing out

  1. Begin from the Netflix home screen.
  2. Press the Back button on your remote.
  3. Select the Gear icon on the right.
  4. Select Exit.
  5. Select OK.

Please note that you can also exit the Netflix app by pressing the TV, Menu, gids, or i-tv button.

Netflix in Ultra HD

Netflix is available in Ultra HD on select KPN, Telfort, and XS4ALL set-top boxes. To stream in Ultra HD, you will need:

  • A TV compatible with Ultra HD streaming from Netflix. See below for more details.
  • A plan that supports streaming in Ultra HD. You can check which plan you're currently on at netflix.com/ChangePlan.
  • A steady internet connection speed of 25 megabits per second or higher. See below for more details.
  • Streaming quality set to Auto or High. More information about video quality settings can be found in our Playback Settings article.

The following KPN, Telfort, and XS4ALL models currently support Netflix in Ultra HD:

  • ZXV8001
