Sorry, but we're having trouble with your request.

This error usually means information stored on your browser needs to be refreshed, or your computer needs a system update to play Netflix.

To fix the problem:

Clear the Netflix cookie

  1. Go to netflix.com/clearcookies. This will sign you out of your account.

  2. Select Sign In and enter your Netflix email and password.

  3. Try Netflix again.

Shut down your computer

  1. Shut down your computer through the menu:

    • For Mac: At the top left, click the Apple menu > Shut Down.

    • For Windows: From the Start menu, click Power > Shut down.

    • For Chromebook: From the bottom right, click on the time > Sign out > Shut down.

  2. Leave your computer off for at least 10 seconds.

  3. Turn it back on, then try Netflix again.

Update Windows

  1. Press the Windows Key on the keyboard.

  2. Select Settings .

  3. Select Update & security.

  4. Windows will check for updates. If it doesn't, select Check for updates.

  5. Once the updates are installed, restart your computer and try Netflix again.

Disable Exclusive Control Mode

  1. Select the Start icon from the lower left corner of your desktop.

  2. Type Sound into the search bar.

  3. Select Sound Control Panel from the search results.

  4. After the Sound Control Panel window appears, select the Playback tab.

  5. Right-click on the current default audio device. (This will have a green checkmark next to it.)

  6. Select Properties.

  7. Select the Advanced tab.

  8. Uncheck the box labeled Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device.

  9. Click the OK button to apply the setting.

  10. Try Netflix again.
