Audio descriptions won't turn off

If you can't turn off audio descriptions, it usually means a setting on your device needs to be changed.

To fix the problem, follow the steps for your device.

Apple TV 2 or Apple TV 3

  1. From your device's home screen, select Settings.

  2. Select General.

  3. Select Accessibility.

  4. Select Video Descriptions.

  5. Select Video Descriptions again to turn it off.

  6. Return to the Netflix app and start playing a movie or TV show.

  7. While a movie or TV show is playing, hold the Select button on the Apple TV remote.

  8. Make sure your selected audio option does not contain Audio Description.

  9. Press Menu on the Apple TV remote.

Play your movie or TV show for at least 5 minutes to save your settings.

Apple TV 4 or Apple TV 4K

  1. From your device's home screen, select Settings.

  2. Select General > Accessibility > Audio Descriptions.

  3. Change the setting to Off.

  4. Return to the Netflix app and start playing a movie or TV show.

  5. While a movie or TV show is playing, swipe down on the Apple TV remote.

  6. From the lower right, select Audio Audio icon .

  7. Choose an option other than Audio Description, then select Done.

  8. Play your movie or TV show for at least 5 minutes to save this setting to your Netflix profile.

iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. From your device's home screen, tap Settings.

  2. From the left, tap Accessibility.

  3. Tap Audio Descriptions.

  4. Make sure the Audio Descriptions setting is switched off.

  5. Return to the Netflix app and start playing a movie or TV show.

  6. While a movie or TV show is playing, tap anywhere on the iOS device screen.

  7. From the bottom, tap Audio & Subtitles.

  8. Under Audio, make sure your selected audio option does not contain Audio Description.

  9. Tap Done.

  10. Play your movie or TV show for at least 5 minutes to save your settings.

All other devices
