I can't turn off audio descriptions.

If you are unable to turn off audio descriptions, it typically points to a setting on your device that needs to be changed. Follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue.

Apple TV 2 or Apple TV 3

Turn off Descriptive Audio

  1. Select Settings from your device's home screen.

  2. Select General.

  3. Select Accessibility.

  4. Select Video Descriptions.

  5. Select Video Descriptions again to turn it off.

  6. Return to the Netflix app and begin playing a movie or TV show.

  7. While a movie or TV show is playing, hold the Select button on the Apple TV remote.

  8. Ensure your selected audio option does not contain Audio Description.

  9. Press Menu on the Apple TV remote.

  10. Play your movie or TV show for at least five minutes to save your settings.

Apple TV 4 or Apple TV 4K

Turn off Descriptive Audio

  1. Select Settings from your device's home screen.

  2. Select General.

  3. Select Accessibility.

  4. Select Audio Descriptions.

  5. Set the toggle switch to Off.

  6. Return to the Netflix app and begin playing a movie or TV show.

  7. While a movie or TV show is playing, swipe down on the Apple TV remote.

  8. Select the Dialog button () in the upper right corner.

  9. Ensure your selected audio option does not contain Audio Description.

  10. Tap Done.

  11. Play your movie or TV show for at least five minutes to save your settings.

iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch

Turn off Descriptive Audio
