With Netflix, you can choose to connect your account to Facebook. If you do, you can also take advantage of a variety of social features, including sending recommendations to Facebook friends and sharing what you watch with them automatically. This sharing occurs within the Netflix service, not on Facebook. To connect your Netflix account to Facebook click the Social Settings link in Your Account, or from many devices. These settings will help you control if and when you want to share your viewing activity with your Facebook friends, on Netflix.
Social features are enabled on many devices including:
Once you connect your Netflix and Facebook accounts and agree to share, everything you watch (including past activity) is automatically shared on Netflix with your Facebook friends.
You and your friends may see each other’s viewing activity and ratings through features such as “Friends’ Favorites” and “Watched by your friends” rows available on the Netflix website and certain devices.
Netflix will not share your viewing activity on your Facebook news feed or timeline. Profiles configured for kids under 12 are not able to connect to Facebook.
Sharing can also be disabled on individual movie or TV shows by clicking the Unshare button on the information page for each title, or by clicking Don't Share This during the first few minutes of playback on most devices. Once a title has been unshared, it can't be re-shared.
You can recommend individual movies or TV shows to your Facebook friends. Recommendations can be sent using supported devices and or through your computer. These recommendations will be delivered to your friends in a variety of ways:
If you are a Netflix member whose Netflix account or profile is connected to Facebook, and you do not wish to receive recommendations from your friends any longer, you can opt out at any time as follows:
More information about sharing your Netflix activity and recommendations to friends can be found in our social terms.
