How do Netflix Social Settings work?
Netflix Social Settings let you automatically share the movies and TV shows you watch with your friends and family on Netflix. You can also choose to share what you're watching on Netflix in your Facebook feed.
To share what you're watching, you'll need to connect your Facebook and Netflix accounts. You can connect your accounts by clicking the Social Settings link in Your Account, or from a device that supports Facebook social features. Facebook social features are enabled on the following Netflix-ready devices:
- Apple iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch
- Nintendo Wii
- Sony PlayStation 3
- Samsung devices, including mobile
- More devices to come over time
Sharing on Netflix happens automatically after you connect your accounts and agree to share. Everything you watch, including past activity, is automatically shared on Netflix with your Facebook friends and vise-versa.
Sharing on Facebook can be enabled after you connect your Netflix and Facebook accounts. If you choose to share on Facebook, all of the streaming activity from Netflix will be shared automatically to the Facebook account connected to Netflix.
You and your friends will see each other’s watching activity and ratings through the “Friends’ Favorites” and “Watched by your friends” rows, available on the Netflix website and certain devices.
You can enable or disable all sharing on Netflix or Facebook any time from the Social Settings link in Your Account.
Sharing can also be disabled on individual movie or TV shows by clicking the Unshare button on the information page for each title, or by clicking Don't Share This during the first few minutes of playback on most devices. Once a title has been unshared, it can't be re-shared.
More information about sharing your Netflix activity can be found in our social terms.
