Downloaded title says 'Expired'

TV shows and movies downloaded on your device will expire after a certain amount of time. You can watch a download as many times as you’d like before it expires. The amount of time that a download has left before it expires is shown on the Downloads page of the Netflix app.

If a download on your device has expired, follow these steps to renew it.

TV shows and movies that are no longer available on Netflix can't be renewed or downloaded again.

Android phone or tablet

Download the title again
  1. Open the Netflix app.

  2. In the lower right, tap My Netflix .

  3. Tap Downloads , then tap a TV show or movie.

  4. Next to a download, tap the download status icon .

  5. Tap Delete Download .

  6. Go back to the TV show or movie, and download it again.

iPhone or iPad

Check the date and time settings

  1. Tap the Settings icon on the Home screen.

  2. Tap General.

  3. Tap Date & Time.

    • If the date and time are incorrect, tap either the date or time to adjust them, or simply toggle the Set Automatically field to On.

Download the title again

  1. Open the Netflix app.

  2. In the lower right, tap My Netflix profile button.

  3. Tap Downloads .

  4. Next to a TV show or movie, tap the download status icon download status icon.

  5. Tap Delete Download delete download.

  6. Try downloading the TV show or movie again.

Netflix app for Windows

  1. Make sure you are connected to the internet.

  2. From the Netflix app, tap Menu .

  3. Tap My Downloads.

  4. Next to an expired download, tap the Alert icon .

  5. Tap Renew Download .

Note:
Some TV shows and movies have a limit to the number of times they can be downloaded or renewed due to studio and license agreements. If you get an error that says you can't download a TV show or movie again, you'll need to watch it while connected to the internet.
