Netflix supports streaming with Dolby Atmos audio on select titles.

What do I need to stream with Dolby Atmos audio?

  • A Dolby Atmos-capable audio system.

  • A plan that supports streaming in Ultra HD. You can check which plan you’re currently on at netflix.com/ChangePlan

  • A Netflix-capable device with Dolby Atmos support

  • Streaming quality set to High or Auto. More information about video quality settings can be found in our Playback Settings article.

Which devices support Dolby Atmos audio with Netflix?

The following devices support Dolby Atmos with Netflix. For exact device models with Dolby Atmos available, please visit the device manufacturer's website.

  • Apple TV 4K (requires tvOS 12 or later)

  • LG OLED TVs (2017 or newer models)

  • Panasonic TVs (2019 or newer models)

  • Pixela 4K Smart Tuner

  • Sharp TVs (2019 or newer models)

  • Sony BRAVIA Android TVs (2018 or newer models)

How do I set up Dolby Atmos audio?

Apple TV 4K

To set up Dolby Atmos on your Apple TV, visit Apple's support page for instructions. If you need help with the setup steps, contact Apple Customer Support.

LG OLED TV

Your LG OLED TV can provide a Dolby Atmos experience using the integrated soundbar or speakers. You can also connect a Dolby Atmos-capable home theater audio system to your LG TV’s HDMI-ARC port. To set up Dolby Atmos on your device, contact LG Customer Support.

Note:
Your audio system must support Dolby Atmos via HDMI-ARC input. Check with your audio system manufacturer to confirm your system meets this requirement.

Pixela 4K Smart Tuner

To set up Dolby Atmos on your Smart Tuner, contact Pixela Customer Support.

Sony BRAVIA TV

To set up Dolby Atmos on your Sony TV, contact Sony Customer Support.

Windows 10 computer or tablet

To set up Dolby Atmos on a Windows 10 computer or tablet, download the Dolby Access app from the Windows store. After launching the app, you will be guided through the setup process. If you need help with the setup steps, contact Microsoft Customer Support.

Xbox One, Xbox One S, or Xbox One X

There are two ways to enjoy Dolby Atmos audio on Xbox One, Xbox One S, or Xbox One X:

  • Using a Dolby Atmos-capable home theater audio system, such as an AV receiver, or sound bar

  • Using headphones and the Dolby Access app on Xbox

For assistance with the setup steps, contact Microsoft Customer Support for assistance.

To use a home theater audio system:

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.

  2. Select System.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Select Display and Sound.

  5. Select Audio Output.

  6. Under Speaker Audio, locate the HDMI Audio drop-down and select Bitstream out.

  7. Locate the Bitstream Format drop-down and select Dolby Atmos for home theater (HDMI only).

  8. Select Get the app from the prompt to download the free Dolby Access app from the Xbox Store, then select Get again to begin the download.

    • If you are prompted to Pass Blu-ray audio directly to your receiver, you have already downloaded the Dolby Access app. Select Pass audio to receiver to finish setting up Dolby Atmos.

  9. Once the Dolby Access app is fully downloaded on your Xbox, you can now enjoy Netflix with Dolby Atmos audio!

To use your headphones and the Dolby Access app:

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.

  2. Select System.

  3. Select Settings.

  4. Select Display and Sound.

  5. Select Audio Output.

  6. Under Headset Audio, locate the Headset format drop-down and select Dolby Atmos for headphones.

  7. Select Get the app from the prompt to download the free Dolby Access app from the Xbox Store, then select Get again to begin the download.

  8. Once the Dolby Access app is fully downloaded on your Xbox, you will need to purchase the Dolby Atmos for Headphones app to enjoy Dolby Atmos. Follow the prompts in the Dolby Access app to download the Dolby Atmos for Headphones app.

How fast does my internet need to be to stream Netflix with Dolby Atmos audio?

We recommend an internet connection speed of at least 3 megabits per second to stream titles with Dolby Atmos audio.

How can I find titles with Dolby Atmos audio?

If you have a Dolby Atmos capable system and a plan that supports streaming in Ultra HD, available titles will display a Dolby Atmos icon next to their description: 

Please note that not every episode or season of a Dolby Atmos supported TV show will have Dolby Atmos available. Additionally, not every TV show or movie supports Dolby Atmos in every language.
