Netflix won't play in fullscreen mode

If Netflix won't play in fullscreen mode on your computer, it usually means your browser needs to be refreshed. Follow these steps to fix the problem.

  1. Go to netflix.com/clearcookies. This will sign you out of your account.

  2. Select Sign In and enter your Netflix email and password.

  3. Try Netflix again.

Shut down your computer
  1. Shut down your computer through the menu:

    • Mac: In the upper left, click the Apple menu, then click Shut Down.

    • Windows: Click the Start menu, then click Power > Shut down.

    • Chromebook: In the bottom right, click the time, then click Sign out > Shut down.

  2. Leave your computer off for at least 10 seconds.

  3. Turn it back on, then try Netflix again.

  1. In the Opera browser, select Menu from the upper left corner.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Select Websites.

  4. Scroll down until you see Full Screen.

  5. Select Manage Exceptions....

  6. Select the X next to https://www.netflix.com if present.

  7. Go back to Netflix and resume your TV show or movie.

  8. Click on the Fullscreen icon in the lower right corner of the playback window.

  9. Check the box to Remember my choice for this website from the banner at the top of your browser.

  10. Select Allow.

  11. Try Netflix again.
