Netflix Billing through Apple

Netflix billing through Apple is no longer available for most new or rejoining members.

Some Apple-billed members in select countries may be prompted to add a new payment method to continue their subscription. (Note: Netflix gift cards cannot be redeemed on these accounts. See below for more information.)

Note:
Apple subscriptions renew automatically, and you may be charged up to 24 hours before each subscription period starts.

Pay for Netflix through Apple

Apple billing for Netflix is not available to new or rejoining Netflix customers.

If you are trying to sign up on your Apple mobile device, you can go to Netflix.com on a mobile browser and use a different payment method.

Check if Netflix is billed through Apple

Check the Membership and Billing section of your Netflix Account to see if you are billed through Apple.

If you have any Apple billing questions, visit Apple support.

Update your Apple billing information

Accept a price/currency change

Apple pricing for Netflix is subject to change based on currency or VAT changes. If you are billed through Apple, you will be prompted to accept the new price and/or currency change in order to continue your membership.

You will need to sign in to your Apple account and follow Apple's instructions.

Change your payment method

Sign in to your Account and select Manage payment info. 

You cannot switch from Apple to a Netflix gift card at this time.

If you signed up through a Netflix gaming app you will need to cancel your subscription through Apple.

If you can't remember your Apple ID, visit Apple support.


Once your current billing period ends and your account has closed, you can rejoin with a new payment method.

Note:
Per Apple's cancellation policy, your membership can renew if you don't cancel your subscription more than 24 hours before your renewal date.
If you switched from Apple billing to another payment method since October 25, 2021, you must also cancel your Netflix subscription through Apple to avoid future charges from Apple.

Change your Netflix plan

Follow these steps to change your subscription through Apple.

Plan upgrades are effective immediately. 

  • You will be charged the full amount for the new plan on the date you upgrade.

  • Your billing date will change to the date you upgrade. 

  • You will immediately receive a prorated refund for any unused portion of your previous plan. 


Plan downgrades will take effect on your next billing date.

Note:
If you signed up before May 10, 2014, or signed up through a Netflix gaming app, you must first cancel your Netflix subscription through Apple. Once your current billing period ends and your account has closed, you can rejoin with a new payment method and change your plan.

If you updated your payment method from Apple, you must wait until the next billing period before changing your plan, otherwise you will revert to Apple billing.

Redeem a promotional offer for Netflix if paying through Apple

Promotional offers can't be redeemed on Apple-billed accounts. 

To redeem a Netflix promotion you will need to cancel your subscription through Apple. Once your current billing period ends, you can restart your Netflix account by redeeming the promotion.

Redeem a Netflix gift card if paying through Apple

Netflix gift cards can’t be redeemed on Apple-billed accounts. 

To use a Netflix gift card, you will need to cancel your subscription. Once your current billing period ends, you can restart your Netflix account by redeeming the gift card. 

Find your Apple billing date

Check your Apple purchase history to find the date that Apple charges you for Netflix.

Cancel Netflix

You can cancel Netflix at any time.

If you don’t see the option to cancel on your Netflix Account, you must cancel your Netflix subscription through Apple. If you cancel your subscription through Apple, your account will be put on hold for 30 days and will then be completely cancelled.

Note:
Per Apple's cancellation policy, your membership might renew if you don't cancel your subscription more than 24 hours before your renewal date.
If you switched from Apple billing and linked your Netflix account to a package with Netflix included since October 25, 2021, you must also cancel your Netflix subscription through Apple to avoid future charges from Apple.
