I can't download the Netflix app on my iOS or Android device

If you are unable to download the Netflix app from the App Store on iOS, or are unable to find the Netflix app in the Google Play Store on Android, follow the steps for your platform below.

iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch

If you're missing the option to download the Netflix app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, it typically points to some settings on the device that need to be adjusted. Follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue.

Modify or disable restrictions on your iOS device
  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select General.

  3. Select Restrictions.

    Note:
You will be prompted for the passcode that was created when restrictions were turned on.
  4. To modify restrictions:

    1. Under Allowed Content, select Websites.

      • Specific Websites Only or Limit Adult Content should be selected.

    2. Scroll to the bottom of the list and select Add A Website.

    3. Enter https://secure.netflix.com along with any title (i.e, "Netflix App").

    4. Select Done on the keyboard.

  5. To disable restrictions:

    1. Select Disable Restrictions.

    2. Enter your passcode again to disable restrictions.

  6. Try Netflix again.

If you have any problems during this process or want to know more about restrictions on your iOS device, visit Apple's support article about Understanding Restrictions.

Android

Certain Android devices that are compatible with Netflix will be unable to download the Netflix app from the Google Play Store.

For a list of supported devices, see Google Play's Supported Devices article. If your device is supported by Google Play but the Netflix app does not appear in the Play Store, follow the steps below to install the Netflix app.

Note:
You must be using a device running Android version 4.4.2 or later to install Netflix from this page.

First, you'll need to set up your Android phone or tablet so you can install the app directly from us:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Tap Settings.

  3. Tap Security.

  4. Put a check next to Unknown Sources: Allow installation of apps from sources other than the Play Store.

  5. Tap OK to confirm this change.

If you prefer, you can roll this change back once you have installed the Netflix app.

Then, on your Android phone or tablet:

  1. Click here to download the Netflix app.

  2. A blank screen will open and then close to indicate that the download has started.

  3. Navigate to the Apps menu.

  4. Select Downloads.

  5. Select Install.

  6. The installation is complete when the notification bar at the top of the screen displays Successfully Installed Netflix.

  7. Find and launch the Netflix app.

  8. If prompted, enter your Netflix credentials using the on-screen keyboard.

You're now ready to watch Netflix on your Android phone or tablet, enjoy!
