Use this article to learn what personal information Netflix holds about you and how to request a copy (also known as a “subject access request” in some regions).

I am the account owner. What information can I see about my Netflix account?

The Account page gives you access to information such as:

  • Account information - account owner information you have provided to Netflix, such as email and phone number (available under Membership & Billing), as well as as plan selection information (available under Plan Details).

  • Communication settings - your indicated preferences with respect to Netflix communications you wish to receive (available by profile under Profile & Parental Controls).

  • Marketing communications - your indicated preferences with respect to Netflix promotional communications on third party services (available by profile under Profile & Parental Controls).

  • Payment and Billing Information - payment details you have provided to Netflix and information about the charges we have made or attempted to make to your payment method for your subscription (available under Membership & Billing).

  • Profiles - details of any profiles that have been created within your Netflix member account, including playback preferences (available by profile under Profile & Parental Controls).

  • Content Interaction History - a history of your Viewing activity and information regarding your interactions with content titles on Netflix, such as movies and TV shows you have rated (available by profile under Profile & Parental Controls).

  • IP address information - information associated with the last time a particular device was used to stream from your Netflix member account from a particular IP address (available in Recent device streaming activity under Settings).


I am the account owner. How do I obtain a copy of the data Netflix holds about me?

Go to https://www.netflix.com/account/getmyinfo and follow the instructions.

It may take up to 30 days from the date we verify your request to produce the requested information. If you have any trouble, please reach out to privacy@netflix.com.


I am not the account owner, but the account owner has shared their Netflix account with me and I have added my email address to the profile that I use. How do I obtain a copy of the data Netflix holds about me?

As described in the Netflix Terms of Use, the Account Owner (defined in the Terms of Use) whose account you are using may share the account with individuals in his or her household.

If you have provided your email address in connection with a profile (more information), you may contact us at privacy@netflix.com to request a copy of your personal information.

For identity verification purposes, please:

  • Ensure that when you submit your request you write from the email address that you submitted with the profile.

    Note:
    Including the email address in the body of a request sent from a different email address does not suffice.
  • Provide a scan of an official government issued ID document.

    • You may mask the ID number and photo (if applicable) and any other sensitive data, so that the ID only shows information necessary for identification: name, date of birth, and country (or country abbreviation) when submitted; if writing from the U.S please make sure your ID shows state of issuance or residence.

Please note that the account owner will be notified of your request.

It may take up to 30 days from the date we verify your identity to produce the requested information.
