How to set or update a Netflix Household

A Netflix Household is a collection of devices connected to the internet at the main place you watch Netflix. A Netflix Household can be set using most TV devices. Devices that use your Netflix account on the same internet connection as this TV will automatically be part of your Netflix Household.

Note: "Internet connection” refers to your wired or wireless internet connection. If you have multiple Wi-Fi networks, we may only associate one with your Netflix Household. If you want to watch Netflix on a device that is connected to a Wi-Fi network using a different ISP account or that has a different external IP address, you may be asked to verify that device as part of your Netflix Household. Make sure to set or update your Netflix Household from a device that is connected to your preferred or most used internet connection.

We use information such as IP addresses, device IDs, and account activity to determine whether a device signed into your account is part of your Netflix Household.

We do not collect GPS data to try to determine the precise physical location of your devices.

If a Netflix Household hasn’t been set, we will automatically set one for you based on IP address, device IDs, and account activity.

You can always update your Netflix Household from a TV by connecting to your internet and following the steps above.

If you don’t watch Netflix on a TV or don’t have one, you do not need to set a Netflix Household for your account.

If you have unrecognized devices using your account, you can sign out of them from the Manage Access & Devices page.
