Netflix won't save changes to my account information or profile settings

If you're having trouble changing your account information or profile settings on the Netflix website, it usually means that data stored in your browser needs to be refreshed. It may also mean that a browser extension or add-on is preventing the Netflix website from working properly.

To fix the problem, follow the steps below.

  1. Go to netflix.com/clearcookies. This will sign you out of your account.

  2. Select Sign In and enter your Netflix email and password.

  3. Try Netflix again.

  2. Reopen your browser.

  3. Try Netflix again.

If clearing the Netflix cookie and restarting your browser didn’t work, follow the steps for your browser below.

If you use Chrome, you can turn off unnecessary add-ons.

  1. In the address bar, enter chrome://extensions.

  2. Turn off any extensions that are turned on.

    Note:Extensions listed under Chrome Apps don't need to be turned off.

  3. Try Netflix again.

If these steps solve the problem, try turning on your extensions one by one to determine which one is preventing Netflix from working properly.

  1. In the upper right corner of your browser, click the Extensions icon.

  2. Click Manage Extensions.

  3. Turn off any installed extensions, then try Netflix again.

If these steps fix the problem, you can turn on your extensions one by one to find out which one is stopping Netflix from playing.

To restart Firefox without add-ons enabled:

  1. Click the Menu.

  2. Select Help.

  3. Select Troubleshoot Mode.

  4. Once Firefox restarts, try changing your settings again.

  1. Select Safari from the upper left corner of the browser.

  2. Select Preferences.

  3. Select the Extensions tab from the top menu bar.

  4. Uncheck the box next to each extension to disable it.

  5. Close the Extensions window.

  6. Try Netflix again.
