This error happens when the device you're casting to isn't signed in to a Netflix account, or if your device isn't on the same Wi-Fi network as your Android phone or tablet.

To fix the problem, follow the steps for your device.

You'll need to sign in to your Netflix account on your Chromecast before you can cast to it.

  1. Open the Netflix app on your Chromecast, select Sign in, then follow the instructions to sign in.

  2. On your Android phone or tablet, open Netflix and tap the cast icon .

  3. In the menu that pops up, tap on your device.

  4. Try Netflix again.

  1. Open the Google Home app on your Android phone or tablet. If you don't have it, you can get it from the Google Play Store.

  2. In the lower left, tap the Home icon, then scroll down to find your Chromecast.

    • If your Chromecast appears as On, it's on the right network.

  3. Try Netflix again.

  1. Unplug the power source from your Chromecast for 15 seconds.

  2. Plug it back in and allow Chromecast to reboot.

  3. Once your Chromecast is powered back on, try Netflix again.

  1. Turn off your device. If your device has a power cable, unplug it.

  2. Make sure your device is completely off, not just in sleep or standby mode.

  3. Leave your device off for 15 seconds.

  4. Turn on your device and try Netflix again.
