This error happens when an issue with data stored on your device stops Netflix from playing.

To fix the problem:

Disable audio enhancements

  1. From the Windows Start menu on your computer, click Settings settings gear icon.

  2. Click System.

  3. From the lefthand side, click Sound.

  4. At the top-right, click Sound Control Panel.

  5. In the Sound window that opens, click the device with a green check mark.

  6. Click Properties.

  7. Click the Enhancements tab.

  8. Make sure Disable all enhancements is turned on.

    • If you don't see the Enhancements tab, or if Disable all enhancements is already turned on, continue to the next step below.

Update the IDT High Definition Audio Codec

Check your computer manufacturer's website for an audio driver compatible with Windows 10. If you're unsure which driver to download or how to install it, your computer manufacturer will be able to assist you

Run the System File Checker tool

  1. Press the Windows Key + X on your keyboard.

  2. Select Command Prompt.

    Note:
    You must be the administrator of the computer or run command prompt in admin mode to complete these steps. Otherwise, you will see an error message.
  3. Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.

  4. After waiting for the process to complete, restart your computer and try Netflix again.
