Netflix Error NSURL:1008;CM:12668;

You might get the error NSURL:1008;CM:12668; on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV with the message:

Sorry, something went wrong.

Cannot play title. Please try again later.

(NSURL:1008;CM:12668;)

This issue sometimes happens when trying to watch Live events on Netflix. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working on a fix.

Follow these steps to continue watching:

On iPhone and iPad:

  1. On the screen with the error, tap OK.

  2. Go back to the list of shows and movies.

  3. Start playing a different title for a few moments, then tap the screen to pause.

  4. At the bottom of the screen, tap Audio & Subtitles .

  5. Under Subtitles, tap Off.

  6. Try playing the original Live event again.

On Apple TV:

  1. Exit the Netflix app.

  2. Open the Settings app.

  3. Select Accessibility.

  4. Select Subtitles and Captioning.

  5. Change the Closed Captions and SDH setting to Off.

  6. Try playing the original Live event again.

This issue may be fixed in the latest version of the Netflix app, follow the steps below to update the app.

On iPhone or iPad:

  1. Go to the home screen, then tap App Store.

  2. Tap Search, and enter "Netflix".

  3. In the list, find and tap Netflix, then tap Update. You may need to enter your Apple ID password. If you forgot it, follow Apple's steps to reset it.

  4. When the update is done, try Netflix again.

On Apple TV:

  1. Open the App Store app.

  2. At the top of the screen, select Purchased.

  3. On the left side, select All Apps.

  4. In the list of apps, find and select Netflix.

  5. If available, select Update. If you don't see this option, your Apple TV is already up to date.

  6. Try Netflix again.
