Netflix says 'There is a problem with the video file (101.1.8).'

If you see an error on your Android phone or tablet that says

There is a problem with the video file (101.1.8)

It typically points to a problem with the downloaded title. Follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue.

Download the title again
  1. Tap the Downloads icon .

    • If you do not see the Downloads icon, tap the Menu icon , then My Downloads.

  2. Tap the edit icon in the upper right corner of your screen.

  3. Select the title you wish to delete by checking the box next to it.

  4. Tap the delete icon to remove the title from your device.

  5. Download the title again.
