  1. Go to netflix.com/clearcookies to clear the Netflix cookie; this will sign you out of your account.

  2. Go to netflix.com/redeem and try to redeem your gift card again.

If you still see this message, it could mean that your card has not been activated yet by the merchant. Please wait 24 hours before trying to redeem your gift card again. If you continue to see this error, please contact us.

If you see a message that the code you entered cannot be used with your account, it typically indicates that you are trying to redeem a gift card on an account that is billed through Apple, or linked to a Netflix-included package.

  • If you currently pay through Apple and want to use a Netflix gift card, you will need to cancel your Netflix account, wait until it closes, then restart it with your gift card.

  • If your account is linked to a Netflix-included package, you can save the gift card and use it when your account is no longer linked to a package, or you can redeem it on a different Netflix account.

If you see this message, gift cards can't be redeemed with your current plan. To redeem your gift card, take these steps:

  1. Go to netflix.com/account.

  2. Select Change Plan and choose your preferred plan.

    • If you don't see the option to Change Plan, it's likely your previous gift card credit was fully used so your account has a payment hold. To change your plan, cancel your account, then rejoin Netflix by selecting a new plan and then redeeming your gift card.

  3. Go to netflix.com/redeem and try to redeem your gift card again.
