Spatial audio on Netflix

Netflix spatial audio is available on the Premium plan and enhances sound without the need for surround sound speakers or home theater equipment. It works on all Netflix supported devices.

You can find TV shows and movies with spatial audio on your device by searching "spatial audio" in the Netflix app. Titles available with spatial audio will have the spatial audio label spatial audio icon next to their description.

TV shows and movies that support spatial audio will automatically play with spatial audio turned on.

TVs or soundbars that use 5.1 surround sound or Dolby Atmos will play using that technology instead of spatial audio. On some TVs or devices, you may need to change the audio output setting from 5.1 to stereo to play using spatial audio. For more information, check with your device or audio equipment manufacturer.

Get spatial audio with head tracking on Netflix

You'll need the Netflix Premium plan, a compatible device, and compatible earbuds or headset.

Select an option for a list of compatible devices and the steps to turn on head tracking:

AirPods or Beats and iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV

Pixel Buds Pro and Google Pixel phone

Galaxy Buds and Samsung Galaxy phone

Samsung phones and earbuds available with Netflix spatial audio:

  • Samsung Galaxy S23

  • Galaxy Buds Pro

  • Galaxy Buds2

  • Galaxy Buds2 Pro

To turn on head tracking:

  1. Connect your earbuds to your phone.

  2. Open the Galaxy Wearable app.

  3. Tap Earbud Settings > Advanced. For Buds2 Pro, tap 360 audio.

  4. Tap the switch to turn on 360 audio.

  5. Tap the switch to turn on Head tracking.
