How to restart your Netflix membership

Follow the steps below if you’ve canceled your account and want to restart it.

  1. Sign in to your account.

    Note: If you don't remember your password, you can reset it.

  2. After signing in...

    • If you can still watch Netflix:

      • There may be a banner at the top of the screen that you can select to restart.

        • If there isn’t a banner, go to netflix.com/account on a computer or mobile browser. You should see a banner there or a Restart Membership button that you can use to restart your account.

        • When you restart, all of your Profiles, My List, game saves, and payment information will still be there – it’s like you never canceled. Your billing date will stay the same.

    • If you see a “welcome back” message or are asked to continue setting up your account:

      • Follow the steps on the screen to finish restarting your account.

        • You may need to update or confirm some of your account settings and payment information.

        • When you restart, all of your Profiles, My List, game saves, and payment information will still be there. Your billing date may change to the day you restarted your account, though.

    • If you see a message that Netflix can’t find an account with that email address:

      • It’s been some time since you canceled your account. You’ll need to follow the steps on the screen to set up a new account.

        • None of your prior account information (Profiles, My List, game saves, etc.) will be available in the new account, and you’ll need a valid payment method to start the new account.

If your Netflix account was restarted without your permission, cancel it by following the steps in How to cancel Netflix, and then do the steps listed there under “Preventing others from restarting your account.”
