Welcome to Netflix on your TiVo! Use this article to learn about Netflix features and how to set up and sign out of your account. If you’re unsure if your device supports Netflix, follow the steps in the Set up Netflix section to attempt to locate the Netflix app.
Netflix is available on many TiVo models. Netflix streaming features on supported devices include:
Supported Regions
Netflix is available worldwide, and most devices will work wherever Netflix is available, though some older devices will only work in the country where they were purchased. See our Supported Region Map for details. If you are considering purchasing a new device, check with the manufacturer to see if it supports Netflix in your region.
Older devices may ask you to go to netflix.com/activate to set up your device. These devices only support Netflix in the United States and Canada.
Navigation
On most devices, Netflix lets you browse through rows of TV shows and movies, including a row dedicated to your My List selections. Each row represents
a category (Comedies, Dramas, TV shows, etc) that we present to you based on what you’ve watched.
Older devices may not have rows of categories, but do allow you to scroll through My List, which you can create using the Netflix website.
Resolution
Most devices are capable of streaming Netflix in high definition on fast internet connections and will play Netflix in their maximum supported resolution (see our internet connection speed recommendations for more information).
Parental Controls
Netflix allows you to set parental controls on individual profiles.
Subtitles & Alternate Audio
Learn how to enable subtitles, closed captions, and alternate audio (including 5.1 surround sound), which are available on many TV shows
and movies. To check if your device supports 5.1 audio, go to any Netflix Original to see if there is a 5.1 audio option. If not, your device does not support this feature. Many devices will let you customize the appearance of subtitles
and captions. Devices that do not support customization will display subtitles and captions in their default appearance or are not configured to display subtitles.

To connect your TiVo to your Netflix account, make sure you are on the Home screen and select the option below that best describes your device.
Press the Netflix button on your remote.
Once in the Netflix app, select Sign In.
If you are not yet a member, follow the signup prompts or set up your membership online.
Enter your Netflix email address and password and select Continue.
Your device is now connected to your Netflix account. Enjoy!

Select Find TV, Movies, & Videos.
Select Netflix.

If you do not see Sign In, select Yes on the Are you a member of Netflix? screen.
If you are not yet a member, set up your membership online.
Enter your Netflix email address and password.
Select Continue.

Select Account & System info.
Select Video Provider Accounts.
Select Netflix Account information.
Select Deactivate this device.
From the TiVo home screen, go to TiVo Central.
Select Settings & Messages.
Select Account & System Info.
Select Video Provider Accounts.
Select Netflix Account Management.
Select Deactivate this device.

Netflix is available in Ultra HD on select TiVo streaming media players. To stream in Ultra HD, you will need:
A 2014 or newer Ultra HD TV with the Netflix app, connected to your TiVo via an HDMI port that supports HDCP 2.2 or later (usually the HDMI 1 port).
A plan that supports streaming in Ultra HD. You can check which plan you're currently on at netflix.com/ChangePlan.
A steady internet connection speed of 25 megabits per second or higher.
Streaming quality set to High or Auto. More information about video quality settings can be found in our playback settings article.

Netflix is available in HDR on select TiVo set-top boxes. To stream in HDR, you will need:
A smart TV that supports either Dolby Vision or HDR10 and Netflix, connected to your device via an HDMI port that supports HDCP 2.2 or later (usually the HDMI 1 port).
A 4 Screen Netflix plan. You can check which plan you're currently on at Netflix.com/ChangePlan.
A steady internet connection speed of 25 megabits per second or higher.
