Using Netflix on your TiVo

Welcome to Netflix on your TiVo! Use this article to learn about Netflix features and how to set up and sign out of your account. If you’re unsure if your device supports Netflix, follow the steps on the “Set up Netflix” tab to attempt to locate the Netflix app.

Netflix Features

Netflix is available on many TiVo devices.

Netflix streaming features on supported devices include:

Supported Regions
Netflix is available worldwide, and most devices will work wherever Netflix is available, though some older devices will only work in the country where they were purchased. See our Supported Region Map for details. If you are considering purchasing a new device, check with the manufacturer to see if it supports Netflix in your region.

Older devices may ask you to go to netflix.com/activate to set up your device. These devices only support Netflix in the US and Canada.

Navigation
On most devices, Netflix lets you browse through rows of TV shows and movies, including a row dedicated to your My List selections. Each row represents a category (Comedies, Dramas, TV shows, etc) that we present to you based on what you’ve watched.

Older devices may not have rows of categories, but do allow you to scroll through My List, which you can create using the Netflix website.

Resolution
Most devices are capable of streaming Netflix in high definition on fast internet connections and will play Netflix in their maximum supported resolution (see our internet connection speed recommendations for more information).

Subtitles & Alternate Audio
Learn how to enable subtitles, closed captions, and alternate audio (including 5.1 surround sound), which are available on many TV shows and movies. To check if your device supports 5.1 audio, go to any Netflix Original to see if there is a 5.1 audio option. If not, your device does not support this feature. Many devices will let you customize the appearance of subtitles and captions. Devices that do not support customization will display subtitles and captions in their default appearance or are not configured to display subtitles.

Parental Controls
Netflix allows you to set parental controls on individual profiles.

Set up Netflix

To connect your TiVo to your Netflix account, make sure you are on the Home screen and select the option below that best describes your device.

Series3 (HD, HD XL)

*Note: Before connecting TiVo to your Netflix account, you must enable video downloads in the account settings on the TiVo website.

Connect from the home screen:

  1. Press the TiVo button on the remote to access TiVo Central.
  2. Select Find TV, Movies, & Videos.
  3. Select Netflix.
  4. Select Sign In.​
    • If you do not see Sign In, select Yes on the Are you a member of Netflix? screen.
    • If you are not yet a member, set up your membership.
  5. Enter your Netflix email address and password.
  6. Select Continue.

Your device is now connected to your Netflix account. Enjoy!

Series4 (Premiere, Premiere XL, Premiere XL4, Mini)

Connect from the home screen:

  1. Press the TiVo button on the remote to access TiVo Central.
  2. Select Find TV, Movies, & Videos.
  3. Select Netflix.
  4. Select Sign In.​
    • If you do not see Sign In, select Yes on the Are you a member of Netflix? screen.
    • If you are not yet a member, set up your membership.
  5. Enter your Netflix email address and password.
  6. Select Continue.

Your device is now connected to your Netflix account. Enjoy!

Roamio

Connect from the home screen:

  1. Press the TiVo button on the remote to access TiVo Central.
  2. Select Find TV, Movies, & Videos.
  3. Select Netflix.
  4. Select Sign In.​
    • If you do not see Sign In, select Yes on the Are you a member of Netflix? screen.
    • If you are not yet a member, set up your membership.
  5. Enter your Netflix email address and password.
  6. Select Continue.

Your device is now connected to your Netflix account. Enjoy!

BOLT

Connect from the home screen:

  1. Press the TiVo button on the remote to access TiVo Central.
  2. Select Find TV, Movies, & Videos.
  3. Select Netflix.
  4. Select Sign In.​
    • If you do not see Sign In, select Yes on the Are you a member of Netflix? screen.
    • If you are not yet a member, set up your membership.
  5. Enter your Netflix email address and password.
  6. Select Continue.

Connect from the home screen:

  1. Press the Home button on the remote.
  2. Select Apps & Games.

  6. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

Or

To access Netflix from the Channel Line-up:

  1. Enter number 824 on the remote control.
  2. Once on channel 824, select OK to launch the Netflix app.
  3. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
  4. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

Your device is now connected to your Netflix account. Enjoy!

Blue Ridge Communication - TiVo

Connect from the home screen:

  1. Press the Home button on the remote.
  2. Select Apps & Games.
  3. Select TV & Movies.
  4. Select Netflix.
  5. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
  6. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

Or

To access Netflix from the Channel Line-up:

  1. Enter number 594 on the remote control.
  2. Once on channel 594, select OK to launch the Netflix app.
  3. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
  4. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

Your device is now connected to your Netflix account. Enjoy!

Cable One - TiVo

Connect from the home screen:

  1. Press the Home button on the remote.
  2. Select Apps & Games.
  3. Select TV & Movies.
  4. Select Netflix.
  5. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
  6. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

Or

To access Netflix from the Channel Line-up:

  1. Enter number 558 on the remote control.
  2. Once on channel 558, select OK to launch the Netflix app.
  3. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
  4. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

Your device is now connected to your Netflix account. Enjoy!

Com Hem - TiVo

Connect from the home screen:

  1. Press the Home button on the remote.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Select Netflix.
  4. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
  5. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

Or

To access Netflix from the Channel Line-up:

  1. Use your remote to navigate to channel 163 on your TV.
  2. Once on channel 163, select OK to launch the Netflix app.
  3. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
  4. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

Your device is now connected to your Netflix account. Enjoy!

    Cogeco - TiVo

    Connect from the home screen:

    1. Press the Home button on the remote.
    2. Select Apps & Games.
    3. Select TV & Movies.
    4. Select Netflix.
    5. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
    6. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

    Or

    To access Netflix from the Channel Line-up:

    1. Use your remote to navigate to channel 661 on your TV.
    2. Once on channel 661, select OK to launch the Netflix app.
    3. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
    4. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

      Connect from the home screen:

      1. Press the Home button on the remote.

      Connect from the home screen:

      1. Press the Home button on the remote.

      Connect from the home screen:

      1. Press the Home button on the remote.

      To access Netflix from the Channel Line-up:

      1. Enter number 450 or 750 on the remote control.
      2. Once on channel 450 or 750, select OK to launch the Netflix app.
      3. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
      4. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

      Suddenlink - TiVo

      Connect from the home screen:

      1. Press the Home button on the remote.
      2. Select Apps & Games.
      3. Select TV & Movies.
      4. Select Netflix.
      5. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
      6. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

      Or

      To access Netflix from the Channel Line-up:

      1. Enter number 3000 on the remote control.
      2. Once on channel 3000, select OK to launch the Netflix app.
      3. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
      4. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

      Connect from the home screen:

      1. Press the Home button on the remote.
      2. Select Apps & Games.

      To access Netflix from the Channel Line-up:

      1. Enter number 697 or 999 on the remote control.
      2. Once on channel 697 or 999, select OK to launch the Netflix app.
      3. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
      4. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

      Virgin Media - The TiVo box and V6 powered by TiVo

      Connect from the home screen:

      1. Press the Home button on the remote.
      2. Select Search & Discover.
      3. Select Netflix.
      4. Enter the Parental Control PIN (the default PIN is 1234).
      5. Select Sign In.​
        • If you do not see Sign In, select Yes on the Are you a member of Netflix? screen.
        • If you are not yet a member, follow the sign up prompts or set up your membership online.
      6. Enter your Netflix email address and password.
      7. Select Continue.

      Or

      To access Netflix from the Channel Line-up:

      1. Use your remote to navigate to channel 204 on your TV.
      2. Once on channel 204, select OK to launch the Netflix app.
      3. Enter the Parental Control PIN (the default PIN is 1234).
      4. Select Sign In.​
        • If you do not see Sign In, select Yes on the Are you a member of Netflix? screen.
        • If you are not yet a member, follow the sign up prompts or set up your membership online.
      5. Enter your Netflix email address and password.
      6. Select Continue.

      Vodafone TV Spain - TiVo

      Connect from the home screen:

      1. Press the Home button on the remote.
      2. Select Apps.
      3. Select Netflix.
      4. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
      5. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

      Or

      To access Netflix from the Channel Line-up:

      1. Use your remote to navigate to channel 444 on your TV.
      2. Once on channel 444, select OK to launch the Netflix app.
      3. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
      4. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

      Your device is now connected to your Netflix account. Enjoy!

      TiVo Box from your Cable Provider

      Connect from the home screen:

      1. Press the Home button on the remote.
      2. Select Apps & Games.
      3. Select TV & Movies.
      4. Select Netflix.
      5. Select Sign In on the Netflix home screen.
      6. Enter your Netflix email address and password.

      Your device is now connected to your Netflix account. Enjoy!

      Sign out of Netflix

      To sign out of the Netflix account on your device, follow the steps below.

      Series3 (HD, HD XL)

      1. From the TiVo home screen, go to TiVo Central.
      2. Select Settings & Messages.
      3. Select Account & System Info.
      4. Select Netflix Account Info.
      5. Select Deactivate this device.

      Series4 (Premiere, Premiere XL, Premiere XL4, Mini)

      1. From the TiVo home screen, go to TiVo Central.
      2. Select Settings & Messages.
      3. Select Help.
      4. Select Account & System info.
      5. Select Video Provider Accounts.
      6. Select Netflix Account Information.
      7. Select Deactivate this device.

      Roamio

      1. From the TiVo home screen, go to TiVo Central.
      2. Select Settings & Messages.
      3. Select Account & System Info.
      4. Select Video Provider Accounts.
      5. Select Netflix Account Management.
      6. Select Deactivate this device.

      BOLT

      1. From the TiVo home screen, go to TiVo Central.
      2. Select Settings & Messages.
      3. Select Help.
      4. Select Account & System info.

        1. Start at the TiVo home screen by selecting Home.
        2. Choose Help & Settings.
        3. Select System Info.
        4. Select Netflix Account Information.
        5. Select Sign Out of Netflix Account.

        Vodafone TV Spain - TiVo

        1. From the TiVo home screen, go to TiVo Central.
        2. Choose Settings & Messages.
        3. Select Account & System info.
        4. Select Netflix Account information.
        5. Select Deactivate this device.

        Wave Communication - TiVo

        1. From the TiVo home screen, go to TiVo Central.
        2. Choose Settings & Messages.
        3. Select Account & System info.
        4. Select Netflix Account information.
        5. Select Deactivate this device.

        TiVo Box from your Cable Provider

        1. From the TiVo home screen, go to TiVo Central.

        Netflix in Ultra HD

        Netflix is available in Ultra HD on select TiVo streaming media players. To stream in Ultra HD, you will need:

        • A TV compatible with Ultra HD streaming from Netflix, connected to your TiVo via an HDMI port that supports HDCP 2.2 or later (usually the HDMI 1 port).
        • A plan that supports streaming in Ultra HD. You can check which plan you're currently on at netflix.com/ChangePlan.
        • A steady internet connection speed of 25 megabits per second or higher. See Can I stream Netflix in Ultra HD for details.
        • Make sure your streaming quality is set to Auto or High. More information about video quality settings can be found in our Playback Settings article.
