Downloads missing from the Netflix app

All downloads on a device are deleted when the Netflix app is uninstalled or reset, and when the app's data is cleared.

If you can't find some or all of the TV shows or movies you've downloaded to the Netflix app, select your device below to learn more.

A TV show or movie might not appear in your Downloads if it has a higher maturity rating than your profile allows. Go to your Netflix account page to see or change a profile's maturity settings.

To check a profile's viewing restrictions:

  1. Open the Netflix app.

  2. In the lower right, tap My Netflix.

  3. Tap the Menu, then tap Manage Profiles.

  4. Tap the Edit icon on your profile.

  5. Tap Viewing Restrictions , then tap Maturity Rating to check your profile's viewing restrictions.

To learn more, go to How to set profile maturity ratings or block titles.

If your profile doesn't have any viewing restrictions and your downloads are still missing, go to the next steps.

Devices with older versions of Android might need to change a storage permission.

  1. Go to the Settings app.

  2. Tap Apps or Apps Manager.

  3. In the list of apps, find and tap Netflix.

  4. Tap Permissions.

  5. Switch Storage to On.

  6. Try Netflix again.

If you use an SD card and can't find downloaded titles, you might need to fix an issue with storing downloads on your SD card.

Some apps offer to "clean up" your device or free up storage space by automatically clearing the data of apps installed on your device. If these apps accidentally clear the Netflix app data, all downloads saved on your device or SD card will be deleted and might cause other issues.

Try turning these apps off, then download your TV show or movie again.

There is a new Netflix app for Windows, which includes support for watching live events, increased streaming quality, compatibility with ad-supported plans, and more. While downloads will no longer be supported, you can continue to watch TV shows and movies offline on a supported mobile device.

If you can’t find the option to download or play your downloaded titles, your computer is already using the new Netflix app version. There’s no way to go back to the old app version.
