How to use Netflix on your Totalplay set-top box

Use this article to learn about Netflix features on your Totalplay set-top box, and how to set up and sign out of your account.

Netflix is available on select Totalplay set-top boxes, listed below. Netflix streaming features on supported devices include:

Silent Sign-In (SSI)
Some Totalplay set-top boxes support Silent Sign-In, a technology that enables automatic sign in. Netflix customers who are billed through Totalplay will automatically be signed in to their Netflix account on their new, additional, or replacement Totalplay set-top box if that box is SSI-enabled.

Navigation
On most devices, you can browse through rows of TV shows and movies, including a row dedicated to your My List selections. Each row represents a category (such as comedies, dramas, or TV shows) that we show you based on what you’ve watched.

Resolution
Most devices can stream Netflix in high definition on fast internet connections and will play Netflix in the highest supported resolution.

Parental controls
You can set parental controls on individual profiles.

Subtitles & alternate audio
Learn how to turn on subtitles, closed captions, and alternate audio (including 5.1 surround sound), which are available on many TV shows and movies. Many devices let you choose how subtitles and captions look. Some devices show subtitles and captions in their default appearance, or aren't set up to show subtitles.

On some devices, you can also stream select titles with Dolby Atmos audio.

If you’re unsure of your device’s model name or number, follow the steps in the “Set up Netflix” section to attempt to locate the Netflix app.

To connect your Totalplay set-top box to your Netflix account, start from the Home screen and choose from the options below.

  1. Begin from your TV home screen.

  2. Press the Netflix button on your remote.

  3. Once in the Netflix app, select Sign In and follow the instructions on the screen.

  1. Use your remote to navigate to Channel 125 or Channel 333 on your TV.

  2. Once on Channel 125 or Channel 333, select OK.

  3. Once in the Netflix app, select Sign In.

Your device is now connected to your Netflix account.

  1. Press the Menu button on your remote.

  2. Locate the App Center, then press OK.

  3. Locate the Netflix app, then press OK.

  4. Once in the Netflix app, select Sign In.

Your device is now connected to your Netflix account.

To sign out of a Netflix account on your device, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Netflix Home screen.

  2. On your remote, press the Back or Last button.

  3. On the right, select Settings .

  4. Select Sign out.

  5. Select Yes to confirm.

  4. Select Exit.

  5. Select OK.

Netflix is available in Ultra HD on select Totalplay set-top boxes. To stream in Ultra HD, you will need:

  • A Netflix plan that supports streaming in 4K Ultra HD.

  • A 2014 or newer 4K Ultra HD TV that is capable of streaming 4K Ultra HD content at 60 Hz, connected to your cable box via an HDMI port that supports HDCP 2.2 or later (usually the HDMI 1 port).

  • A steady internet connection speed of 15 megabits per second or higher.

  • Streaming quality set to High or Auto.

You can watch Netflix in Ultra HD on the following Totalplay models:

  • Android TV ZTE (2021)

  • Sagemcom 4K EIW384-4K

  • Sagemcom DIW362

  • Soundbox

Netflix is available in HDR on select Totalplay set-top boxes. To stream in HDR, you will need:

  • A Netflix plan that supports streaming in HDR.

  • A streaming device that supports HDR.

  • A smart TV that supports either Dolby Vision, HDR10, or HDR10+ connected to your device via an HDMI port that supports HDCP 2.2 or later (usually the HDMI 1 port).

  • A steady internet connection speed of 15 megabits per second or higher.

  • Playback settings set to High.
