How to use Netflix on your Sky set-top box or Sky Glass

Use this article to learn about Netflix features on your Sky set-top box or Sky Glass, and how to set up and sign out of your account.

Netflix is available on select Sky set-top boxes and Sky Glass, listed below.

Silent Sign-In (SSI)
Some Sky set-top boxes support Silent Sign-In, a technology that enables automatic sign-in. Netflix customers who are billed through Sky will automatically be signed in to their Netflix account on their new, additional, or replacement Sky set-top box if that box is SSI-enabled.

If you don't know your device’s model name, follow the steps in the “Set Up Netflix” section.

To connect your Sky set-top box / Sky Glass to your Netflix account, start from the home screen and choose from the options below.

Connect from your remote

  1. From voice search enabled remotes, press the microphone button and say "Open Netflix."

    • If Netflix doesn't open, make sure you haven't blocked access to Netflix through your Sky Q set-top box parental control settings.

  2. Once in the Netflix app, select Sign In.

Your device is now connected to your Netflix account.

Connect from apps

  1. Press the Home button on your remote.

  2. Select Apps.

  3. Select Netflix.

    • If you do not see the Netflix app, make sure you haven't blocked access to Netflix through your Sky Q set-top box parental control settings.

  4. Once in the Netflix app, select Sign In.

Your device is now connected to your Netflix account.

Connect from On Demand

  1. Press the Home button on your remote.

  2. Select On Demand.

  3. Select Netflix or any Netflix title from the menu.

    • If you do not see the Netflix app, make sure you haven't blocked access to Netflix through your Sky Q set-top box parental control settings.

  4. Once in the Netflix app, select Sign In.

Your device is now connected to your Netflix account.

To sign out of the Netflix account on your device, follow these steps.

Exit and sign out of Netflix

  1. Go to the Netflix Home screen.

  2. On your remote, press the Back or Last button.

  3. On the right, select Settings gear icon .

  4. Select Sign out.

  5. Select Yes to confirm.

Exit Netflix without signing out

  1. Go to the Netflix Home screen.

  2. On your remote, press the Back or Last button.

  3. On the right, select Settings gear icon .

  4. Select Exit.

  5. Select OK.

Netflix is available in Ultra HD on select Sky set-top boxes / Sky Glass. To stream in Ultra HD, you will need:

  • A Netflix plan that supports streaming in Ultra HD.

  • A 2014 or newer Ultra HD TV that is capable of streaming Ultra HD content at 60 Hz, connected to your set-top box via an HDMI port that supports HDCP 2.2 or later (usually the HDMI 1 port).

  • A steady internet connection speed of 15 megabits per second or higher.

  • Streaming quality set to High or Auto.

You can watch Netflix in Ultra HD on the following Sky models:

  • Sky Q 2TB or Sky Q Silver

  • Sky Q 2TB

  • Sky Stream

Netflix is available in HDR on select Sky set-top boxes / Sky Glass. To stream in HDR, you will need:

  • A Netflix plan that supports streaming in Ultra HD.

  • A streaming device that supports either Dolby Vision or HDR and Netflix.

  • A smart TV that supports either Dolby Vision or HDR10 connected to your device via an HDMI port that supports HDCP 2.2 or later (usually the HDMI 1 port).

  • A steady internet connection speed of 15 megabits per second or higher.

  • Streaming quality set to High.
